Vena Cava Edition

"My first pair of Converse was in seventh grade," says Vena Cava designer Lisa Maycock, "I was obsessed with high tops but my mom would never let me get them, because she said they looked too punk. So finally when I got a pair, I wore them until they, like, disintegrated."

Now Lisa's label has a Converse of her very own. "Sophie [Buhai, the other half of Vena Cava] began doodling on a Converse form and then I filled in the rest. It seemed so natural to make our shoe one that was covered in drawings, because we all remember being stuck in class, or on the subway, just drawing all over our shoes."
